Reviewer Comments: After five disappointing novels from Hamilton , it was a delight to read this collection of short stories from her.  They remind me of how captivating the original Anita Blake series was to read! The collection contains the first Anita Blake short story, predating her vampire executioner days where she is just an animator-for-hire.  A few of the stories are set in the world of Hamilton ’s lesser known novel, Nightseer and there is even a science fiction short included.   This hardback book doesn't get a 5 because it’s rather thin and pricey for a short story collection.  However, as brief as it is, these stories are better than the last few novels in the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter or Merry Gentry series.

Reviewer Comments: This is Laurell K. Hamilton writing the way I truly enjoy. This is a collection of short stories. Some of my favorites are situated in the “Nightseer” world.
